humanworks press is committed to creating cultures of wellness. Our team is made up of dedicated professionals, with a diverse range of experience throughout the education sector, working together to publish materials that enhance our collective understanding and support for the well-being of all educators. The Well Teacher is humanworks press' first publication.
Jack is the Co-Founder of humanworks press and President and Founder of humanworks consulting group. In these roles, Jack oversees all corporate direction and service delivery. He also personally provides the following services to humanworks clients, including: vocational rehabilitation case management, organizational coaching, individual counseling, and group facilitation.
Jack holds a Masters of Education (Counselling Psychology) degree from the University of Victoria and has worked in the field of health services since the early 1980’s. He has worked specifically as an Organizational Counsellor and Return to Work Coordinator since 1995. Jack has extensive experience working in unionized environments with senior management members in a number of organizations throughout Canada.
In his personal life, Jack enjoys spending time in the outdoors on the North Shore of Vancouver; hiking, riding, skiing and fishing. He, with his wife Monika, have raised their twins, now 23 years of age. Jack coached soccer for over 20 years and is involved in a number of ongoing, local community volunteer initiatives. Jack has a passion for cooking and entertaining, bringing food from the ocean, fields and garden to the plate. Simple living at its finest!
Wade is the author of The Well Teacher, Co-Founder of humanworks press, and Vice President of humanworks consulting group. He is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Disability Management Professional; his alma mater is McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, from which he graduated in 1995 with his BHSc, OT. Wade directs all humanworks press and The Well Teacher initiatives, while also leading the development of specialized The Well Teacher products and services. Wade also provides clinical support to all humanworks staff, as well vocational rehabilitation case management and disability management, group facilitation, ergonomic assessment and job demands analysis, wellness planning, and home/lifestyle assessment for all humanworks clients.
When not working, Wade enjoys spending time outdoors, running on the local trails, climbing, and riding. He is active in the local running community, enjoying Vancouver's North Shore mountains whenever possible. Wade also travels whenever the chance presents – in the past combining travel with work opportunities as an OT, and travel with running events throughout the world.
Andrée is a Contributing Writer to The Well Teacher and Project Manager for humanworks press and humanworks consulting group. She leads the end to end delivery of The Well Teacher project, including editing, design & layout direction, publishing & production as well as brand development, website & social media, marketing & communications, and order processing & fulfillment. Drawing on her specialties in social research, program evaluation, and project management, Andrée uses innovation and creativity to drive The Well Teacher brand forward.
Andrée earned a Master of Arts in International Studies with a concentration in Complex Emergencies from Simon Fraser University in 2010 and holds BA degrees in Political Science (2009) and Sociology/Psychology (2007) from the University of Manitoba.
On a personal level, Andrée has a deeply creative and adventurous spirit. She is an accomplished photographer and is passionate about creating bold and compelling imagery. Andrée also loves cooking, cycling, swimming, sewing, and exploring the outdoors with her husband, daughter, and rescue dog.
Meetu is the Operations Manager at humanworks. She maintains and oversees the operations of the humanworks head office and works closely with the President, Jack MacNeill. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University and has extensive experience in a wide range of disciplines (accounting, psychology, health sciences) enabling her to see things from a variety of angles, quickly cleaving to the essence of the problem, offering creative and practical solutions. She works with the entire humanworks team, and provides operations and accounting support that is imperative to the functions of the company.
In addition to work, she practices yoga to cultivate balance and harmony, enjoys sketching/painting, and takes every opportunity she can to travel and experience other cultures.
